I would make a swatch first to check and if it looks like the stitches are too tight then I would try to work them on the loose side. I hope that helps! You only want to increase every other row... so if you are increasing on your odd rows yes you want to increase.
You have to make 4 increases per increase row: one at the beginning of the row, 2 in the middle of the row and one towards the end of the row. The first increase could be made 1, 2 or 3 stitches in from the beginning of the row. Say you make your increase 2sts in, then the middle increase will need 2sts between them and the last increase will be made 2sts from the end. Does that make sense? Where ever you place them they have to be even because if you think of that piece being folded and the increases are at your sides. Hope that makes sense!!
Let me know :) KarenKnit 1 LAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05791013598088788662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-958761355182193346.post-54389311184361898122015-01-31T16:40:27.046-08:002015-01-31T16:40:27.046-08:00Hi Karen. On the odd rows do you still do the increase at the side where the seam will be sewn? The way the sweater is constructed it's very easy to adjust to fit any size. Since it's worked from sleeve edge to sleeve edge the larger size in width is for longer sleeves (if that makes sense). The measurement across is 39"(46") but the measurement from shoulder to waist would be the one that would have to be adjusted if necessary and that measurement is 11"(16"). Feel free to email me with more questions if you'd like. Hope this helps! The problem too with yarn that is 100% alpaca is the weight of it. It's a very dense fiber and has a real drag to it. You would need a lot of the yarn to make the sweater and the weight of the yarn would really make it grow. If you want to use alpaca look for a blend to help with this problem. :)Knit 1 LAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05791013598088788662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-958761355182193346.post-11078011241622626442014-07-27T14:45:16.265-07:002014-07-27T14:45:16.265-07:00Thanks Karen,
